Diptyk Magazine.

In October 2019, we were tasked with coming up with a new strategy for Diptyk Magazine, which consisted in a complete digital and print overhaul. It included a new Social Media Strategy, Content Production and a new print layout.

Rethinking 10 years
of print.

One of the main task to carry out Diptyk’s transformation was the redesign of the print magazine. Local graphic designer Zahra Sebti was selected to execute our vision and create an entirely new visual identity for the magazine that centered around readability and championing the art featured in the pages of the magazine, while creating strong and identifiable visual clues.

The first issue Zahra worked on was issue #52, right before production of the magazine had to be halted due to the spread of Covid-19. To keep readers informed during this time of crisis, Diptyk Magazine released issue #53/4 exclusively online for free.

Creating new mediums.

To accompany this transformation, we’ve created, recorded, produced and distributed Diptyk’s podcast, hosted by editor-in-chief Meryem Sebti. The idea was to create a new medium that could serve as a knowledge archive for Moroccan and African art.

One technical challenge was to produce this podcast while keeping up with social distancing rules and still obtain quality audio: we were able to come up with a process that makes it barely noticeable to listeners that Meryem and her guests were not sitting in the same room.

In addition to all of the above, we also designed the podcast’s visual identity and social media content.

The podcast is available on all major platforms, first guests include Meryem Berrada (Macaal), Michel Gauthier (Centre Pompidou) and Amadou Diaw (MuPho).

International recognition.

Only a few months after Diptyk’s new direction was kicked off, The New York Times quoted @diptykmagazine as their Five Art Accounts to Follow on Instagram.

Not only was it a great recognition of our work, but a great embodiment of why we love working for Diptyk, ie contributing to promote African art and culture around the world.

Below are a few examples of the kind of content we’ve produced for Diptyk’s Social Media platforms and our print ad for the podcast.
